Laura Marshall - Managing and Marketing Director
As Managing Director of Icon Films, she is responsible for the day to day and strategic management of the company and Executive Produces much of Icon’s output.
After leaving school Laura spent a year in Paris working for Henri and Martine Cartier-Bresson. Her first job in the media was working for Roger Graef, of Films of Record, developing film and television projects at Limehouse Studios, and then moved to the Murray Pollinger Literary Agency. After two years she moved to Cumbria and worked with her husband, Harry Marshall at his company, John Peel Productions. In 1990 Harry and Laura moved to Bristol and founded Icon Films together.
As well as being Managing Director of Icon Films, Laura is a prominent member of the Bristol production community and Chaired the first year of Bristol Media, the cluster group for companies and professionals working in Bristol and remains a Board Member. She is a recent appointee to the Bristol Old Vic Theatre Board. She is a Trustee of The British Empire and Commonwealth Museum and on the Management Committee of Wildscreen, the world's largest festival of moving images from the natural world.
